Twelve good reasons for tools and molds from German-speaking countries: The VDWF strengthens the regional industry
The VDWF has launched an initiative to strengthen the domestic industry in the face of increasing competition from suppliers from heavily subsidized foreign economic areas. Under the title "Twelve good reasons for tools from German-speaking countries", the association is emphasizing the advantages of regional production and is thus specifically targeting companies for whom price was previously the most important criterion when choosing a tool manufacturer. Managing Director Ralf Dürrwächter explains: "Our aim is to highlight the strengths of toolmakers in the domestic market and at the same time draw attention to the challenges facing our key industry, which is dominated by SMEs."
The following arguments should help to highlight the advantages of suppliers of valid production equipment from German-speaking countries over their competitors and promote the tool and mold making industry here:
- Local trust: many family businesses and agile hidden champions combine tradition and future.
- Legal certainty and transparency: Clear legal framework conditions guarantee reliable business relationships.
- Currency security: Protection against currency fluctuations offers financial stability.
- Speak the same language: Misunderstandings due to language barriers can be reduced to a minimum in the domestic market.
- Know the mentality: Cultural understanding facilitates cooperation.
- No prepayment risk: Secure payment on delivery.
- No "surprise package in a container": reliable tools and joint commissioning on site.
- Sustainability: Avoidance of unnecessary transportation around the globe.
- A clear conscience: Compliance with human rights and fair production conditions.
- Think global, act local: Global mindset, local implementation.
- Changes and reworking on site: Quick adjustments and reworking are easily possible at any time.
- Working in the same time zone and close to the service provider: facilitating communication and reducing delays.
"We want to show that tools and molds from German-speaking countries are not only competitive, but are also usually the more ecologically and economically sustainable choice," explains Dürrwächter. The VDWF initiative is supported by various tools that are made available to association members and industry representatives. These include roll-up displays for trade fairs, events or your own company, which provide information about the benefits of local procurement. These are available at cost price from the VDWF store.
In addition, a range of digital graphics for use in social media or on the company website are available to download free of charge.
