Practical training for young talent and exchange of experience: HAW-K visits Arburg
The association of plastics professors from universities of applied sciences and universities of applied sciences in the DACH region focuses on qualifying young talent through practice-oriented teaching and applied research. In regular round-table discussions, the HAW-K exchange ideas - both with each other and with plastics technology companies.
Injection molding machine manufacturer Arburg opened its doors at the beginning of December and hosted the initiative for two days. "We were able to experience the 'Arburg spirit' in production, which is characterized by in-depth expertise and care," explains Prof. Stefan Roth from Applied Plastics Technology at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences. The discussion with Guido Frohnhaus, Managing Director Technology at Arburg, Dr. Christoph Schumacher, Head of Global Marketing, and Thomas Walther, Head of Process Development, on the current and future worsening shortage of skilled workers made it clear where companies and universities are currently struggling and showed that the challenges can only be tackled and solved together. "These two days in Lossburg made a significant contribution to this, for which we would like to thank our host Arburg," said Roth.
